Nature and landscape photography
Last morning gave us a nice sunrise before cold Siberian air rolled in. All in all it was quite challeging workshop.
Weather today was mostly cloudy, so it was perfect day to photograph icicles at Peričnik waterfall. Conditions were very good, and we spend quite some tame photographing patterns in ice. Next stop was Predjama castle, an unusual building build in karst cave. We end up the productive day in Piran, that showed us it's cold face with temperatures close to 0 and gusts of cold wind.
We had two long days in the Alps. Yesterday we were hiking to the top of Dobratsch, a 2167m high peak in Austrian Alps. View fro the top is fantastic! Today we went to Soča Valley. The water level is very low, but we got some interesting photos never the less.
It was clear day today with only small amount of haze. So we went to Ljubljana for a evening photo session. Leica 35-70 came handy again, as sun star it draws is really nice for my eye. Weather forecast for tomorrow is clear with possibility of morning mist and -14 degrees Centigrade. It looks like long and productive day.
Winter around here doesn't looks like winter and due to tight schedule, my ladscape photography is on waiting till Slovenia in Winter workshop at the end of January. Luckily for me bird feeders are reasonably busy, so last weekend I set up Phototrap for the first time this winter. It was quite productive, and here are some results.
Weather was very cloudy through the day, so we decided that we'll go to Soča valley. Nice toquise water and trees in autumn colour ocupied us through the day. Near Bovec we found another good looking waterfall. Weather forecast for tomorrow looks the same, so we'll spend it potographing reflections and waterfalls.
It was leasure start this morning due to cloudy weather. Firstly we visited Rakov Škocjan where we photographed Mali naravni most. Then we wisited Predjama castle. We finished the day at the cosat. Firstly we photographed nica sandstone patterns and we ended the day in the town of Piran. For tomorow, the forecast is the same....
Yesterday we started another autumn workshop. In the evening we photographed sunset in Ljubljana. This morning we were up early in hope for some low laying mist over Ljubljana Basin. Unforunatelly there was too much of mist, so we headed to Bled where we took quite a few photos. I tried a IR filter on 1DS, and it work quite well, although exposing times were very long. Through te day we were looking for photographs that will work in the cloudy weather and we end up the day in Ljubljana.
I had time to oversleep the first workshop now. The weather was verz good and we found few new locations, that shows some potential for the future. Mist on Bled lake was one of the best I've seen so far. The only down side was the lack of autumn colour, but one can't have everything. Now I need to catch up with lecturing plan and on Friday we'll start the second autumn workshop. And the forecast promises some turbulent weather....
We've been very lucky so far, althoug colours aren't the at their best this year. The dry weather for last three months and sudden drop of temperatures with snow last week took their toll. On the other hand, mist on lake Bled was one of the best we've seen and layers on Mangart Pass were also very good. We got quite a few nice photos so far. And it's only Sunday evening.
