Comparison between soft focus objectives

Comparison between two soft focus objectives

It's incredible, but last week I developed the last batch of film. It's satisfying to know, that I now can see everything I photograph for the last year. I still need some scanning to do to be able to find candidates for Pd printing that I plan for winter months. Never the less. Between films in last batch I find this photo of deep snow in the forest that I took with two lenses: Hermagis Eidocsope #3 and home made Puyo&Pulligny adjustable landscape lens. This later one is incredibly difficult to use. Firstly it's very, very soft and secondly it's soft focus effect relies on chromatic aberration and therefore visual and chemical focus are not on the same spot and compensation although I have some information, is still wild guess. Both photos were taken with objectives wide open. How much do I succeed in doing this, it's you do decide. I'm quite pleased with both photos, and can't wait to find time to print them.
